Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monitoring of anthropometric and physical fitness parameters in primary school children is important for the prevention of future health problems. Many of the existing test batteries that are useful for monitoring require expensive test materials, specialized test administrators, and a lot of space. This limits the usefulness of such tests for widespread use. The aim of this pilot study was to design and evaluate monitoring tools for anthropometrics and physical fitness tests in primary schools, called AUT FIT. The test battery consists of height, weight, and waist circumference measurement and eight fitness tests (6 min run, V sit-and-reach, jumping sideways, standing long jump, medicine ball throw, 4 \u00d7 10 m shuttle run, ruler drop, single leg stand). Data of 821 children aged 7 to 10 years were gathered. Most AUT FIT tests showed excellent test\u2013retest and interrater reliability and were easy to implement. Criterion-related validity was evident by a strong correlation between physical education teacher rankings and rank scores for motor fitness. Nationwide implementation in the Austrian school system could be an important component for monitoring and improving the health and fitness of primary school children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zusammenfassung:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die \u00dcberwachung anthropometrischer und k\u00f6rperlicher Fitnessparameter bei Grundschulkindern ist wichtig, um zuk\u00fcnftigen Gesundheitsproblemen vorzubeugen. Viele der vorhandenen Testbatterien, die f\u00fcr die \u00dcberwachung n\u00fctzlich sind, erfordern teure Testmaterialien, spezialisierte Testadministratoren und viel Platz. Dies schr\u00e4nkt die N\u00fctzlichkeit solcher Tests f\u00fcr eine weitverbreitete Verwendung ein. Das Ziel dieser Pilotstudie war es, \u00dcberwachungsinstrumente f\u00fcr Anthropometrie und k\u00f6rperliche Fitnesstests in Grundschulen, genannt AUT FIT, zu entwerfen und zu evaluieren. Die Testbatterie besteht aus Gr\u00f6\u00dfen-, Gewichts- und Taillenumfangsmessung sowie acht Fitnesstests (6 min Laufen, V Sit-and-Reach, Seitw\u00e4rtsspringen, Weitsprung aus dem Stand, Medizinballwurf, 4 \u00d7 10 m Pendellauf, Fallstab, Einbeinstand). Daten von 821 Kindern im Alter von 7 bis 10 Jahren wurden gesammelt. Die meisten AUT FIT-Tests zeigten eine hervorragende Test-ReTest- und Interrater-Zuverl\u00e4ssigkeit und waren einfach zu implementieren. Die Kriteriums bezogene Validit\u00e4t wurde durch eine starke Korrelation zwischen den Rankings der Sportlehrer und den Rangwerten f\u00fcr die motorische Fitness deutlich. Eine fl\u00e4chendeckende Umsetzung im \u00f6sterreichischen Schulsystem k\u00f6nnte ein wichtiger Baustein zur \u00dcberwachung und Verbesserung der Gesundheit und Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit von Grundschulkindern sein.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
