Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This study examined the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the health of 331 seven to nine-year-old primary school children. The subjects, with approximately equal gender distribution (48 percent girls, 52 percent boys) and 44 percent members of sports clubs, were analyzed for their cardiorespiratory fitness and body mass index (BMI) at three points in time: shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic (September 2019), immediately after the rigorous restrictions (June 2021) and one year after the COVID-19-related restrictions were lifted (June 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results show a significant weight gain during the lockdown phases, with the average BMI increasing from 22.19 to 22.82. Although a decrease was recorded one year after the measures were lifted (22.56), the children did not reach the pre-pandemic level. Boys showed greater weight fluctuations than girls. Athletically active children showed lower body mass values at all time points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zusammenfassung:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diese Studie untersuchte die Auswirkungen der Covid-19-Pandemie auf die Gesundheit von 331 sieben bis neun Jahre alten Volksschulkindern. Die Probanden, mit ann\u00e4hernd gleicher Geschlechterverteilung (48 Prozent M\u00e4dchen, 52 Prozent Buben) und 44 Prozent Mitgliedern in Sportvereinen, wurden hinsichtlich ihrer kardiorespiratorischen Fitness und K\u00f6rpermassezahl (Body Mass Index – BMI) zu drei Zeitpunkten analysiert: kurz vor der COVID-19 Pandemie (September 2019), unmittelbar nach den rigorosen Einschr\u00e4nkungen (Juni 2021) und ein Jahr nach Aufhebung der COVID-19 bedingten Restriktionen (Juni 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Ergebnisse zeigen eine signifikante Gewichtszunahme w\u00e4hrend der Lockdown-Phasen, wobei der durchschnittliche BMI von 22,19 auf 22,82 stieg. Obwohl ein Jahr nach Aufhebung der Ma\u00dfnahmen eine Abnahme verzeichnet wurde (22,56), erreichten die Kinder nicht das Vor-Pandemie-Niveau. Buben zeigten dabei st\u00e4rkere Gewichtsschwankungen als M\u00e4dchen. Sportlich aktive Kinder wiesen zu allen Zeitpunkten niedrigere K\u00f6rpermassewerte auf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es wurde ein sechs-Minuten-Lauftest durchgef\u00fchrt, der eine drastische Abnahme der kardiorespiratorischen Fitness w\u00e4hrend der Pandemie zeigte. Nach Aufhebung der Restriktionen erholten sich die Fitnesswerte, erreichten jedoch nicht die Ausgangsniveaus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Studie betont bedenkliche Auswirkungen der Pandemie auf die Gesundheit der Kinder und empfiehlt eine gezielte F\u00f6rderung von k\u00f6rperlicher Aktivit\u00e4t, insbesondere durch Sportvereine. Politische Ma\u00dfnahmen sollten darauf abzielen, Bewegung und gesunde Ern\u00e4hrung in Schulen zu intensivieren und landesweit die Gesundheit von Kindern im Schulsystem zu \u00fcberwachen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
